You've come to the right branch.
Tree Branches in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are a crafting material used to make Flimsy tools. In this guide we will provide a quick explainer on how to get them fast.
When you first start out in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’ll want to get yourself some tools to harvest materials with. But to do so, you’ll need to craft them. And in order to craft them, you’ll need materials in the first place. Brilliant.
Thankfully one of the first crafting materials you’ll work with is the humble Tree Branch, and it’s simple to obtain too.
Below we’ve put together a quick explainer on how to go about getting plenty of tree branches to craft flimsy gear with.
How to get tree branches fast in Animal Crossing New Horizons
One of the simplest ways to get hold of tree branches is to scavenge those already on the ground. Simply run over to them and press [Y] to stick them in your pockets. It’s worth noting you can carry stacks of branches up to 30, and exceeding this limit will create a brand new stack.
The fastest way to collect tree branches is to run up to trees and hold [A] to shake them a few times. Sometimes they’ll drop multiple, so get ready to hoover them up if you find a particularly fruitful tree.
Trees not only drop branches, but they may also drop furniture and bells – a lovely little surprise for all your tree shaking efforts.
They may drop Wasp’s Nests at your feet too. If this happens sprint away to any nearby building and head inside as quickly as possible. Get stung and you can buy Medicine from Timmy/Tommy’s store to heal your wounds, or if you’ve got the recipe to hand, you’ll be set to repair the damage.
If you really want to avoid wasps, whip out your Bug Net and shake trees while holding it at the same time. This way you’ll be ready to swipe them out of the air as soon as they appear.
