Baptiste hits Overwatch on Tuesday 19th March
Hero 30 combat medic will hit the game in just under a week from now.
Overwatch’s 30th Hero – Baptiste – will be released on consoles and PC in just over a week from now on Tuesday 19th March.
The news was confirmed in a tweet from the official Overwatch account yesterday evening. Here’s the announcement:

Baptiste is a support character described as a combat medic by the Overwatch developers. His Medic SMG primary weapon fires in multi-round bursts, but he also has a secondary fire grenade launcher which fires healing grenades.
Additionally, Baptiste can activate a healing aura which restores health to all nearby friendly players, or drop an Immortality Field which prevents friendly players within it from dropping below a very low health threshold.
Baptiste also has an interesting mobility tool too in the form of his Exo Boots. By making use of these, he can propel himself high out of danger, or just move into a more advantageous position for dropping those healing grenades.
Finally, Baptiste’s ultimate ability comes in the form of an Amplification Matrix. Placed like Mei’s wall, any friendly fire that passes through this force field will be juiced up when it hits the enemies on the other side.
