Blizzard prepares Olympics themed loot boxes for Overwatch – Overwatch
Limited edition sprays and skins teased ahead of opening ceremony.
It looks as though Blizzard has some Olympics-inspired content in the pipeline for Overwatch this summer (thanks Eurogamer).
Streamer LacedUpLaura received a goody bag from Blizzard this week which contained a number of images suggesting new sporty skins for Zarya, Tracer and Lucio. As for the other Heroes, there’s an assortment of sports-themed sprays that feature the rest of the character roster in competitive poses.
On NeoGAF, further details were uncovered via download information on the PlayStation Store. The description reads:
“Celebrate Overwatch’s inaugural Summer Games with special Summer Games Loot Boxes – available for a limited time!”
“Each contains four items, at least one of which is guaranteeed to be a Summer Games skin, spray, highlight intro, emote, victory pose, player icon or voice line. There are more than 90 Summer Games items to collect – they’re not available for purchase with in-game credits, so loot boxes are the only way to claim them.”

Blizzard typically likes to release new content for Overwatch on a Tuesday, so we could see the update land today. With the Olympics opening ceremony taking place this Saturday though, next Tuesday seems like a more likely release date.
