Unfortunately, at present there’s not an in-app way to play with a controller, although this page from Charlie Intel indicates that controller support will be added in the game’s future. Below you can find info on how to pair your controller with your phone, so you’re ready to go if controller support is added to CoD: Mobile in the future.
How to pair an Xbox One or PS4 controller to an Android device
To pair your Xbox One controller, you’ll need to make sure it’s got Bluetooth capabilities. The controller must be the 1708 version or later, bundled alongside the Xbox One S and visible by the Xbox logo on the front being on the same piece of plastic as the rest of the controller’s front.
Hold down the Xbox button on the front of the controller to turn it on, then hold down the pairing button, located just to the left of the charging port. Navigate into your phone’s Settings menu and press Device Connectivity, then click through to Bluetooth. Switch Bluetooth on, and you’ll see the Xbox Wireless Controller as a connection option. Tap that, and you’re good to play a whole bunch of games.
To pair your Playstation 4 controller, put it into pairing mode by holding down the PS and Share buttons. The Dualshock’s light should start flashing. Next, pop into your Settings > Device Connectivity > Bluetooth. Switch Bluetooth on, and you’ll see the Dualshock as a connection option. Tap it and you’re all set.
How to pair am Xbox One or PS4 controller to an iOS device
At present, the iOS version of COD: Mobile does not support controller usage. There’s a chance this will change in the future though, so we’ll describe below how to get them connected and set up.
You’ll need one of the more recent versions of the Xbox One controller to connect it to your phone via Bluetooth. The 1708 version (or later) has Bluetooth capabilities – the controller that came with the Xbox One S. Visually, you can tell this version apart because the Xbox logo on the front is not on a separate piece of plastic like it is in the older versions. Ensure your iOS is updated to version 13.0 or later.
Press and hold the Xbox logo on the front of the controller to turn it on, then hold down the Bluetooth pairing button at the top to activate pairing mode. The logo will start flashing and ‘Xbox Wireless Controller’ should appear on your iPhone’s Bluetooth menu, found just underneath the Wi-Fi menu and Airplane Mode in Settings. Tap this, and you’re connected.
To pair a PS4 controller, again, ensure you have iOS 13 or later. Make sure your Dualshock 4 controller is charged, and hold down the PS button on the middle of the controller, and the Share button, up and to the left.
This’ll put the controller in Pairing Mode, and from there you’ll be able to see ‘DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller’ as an option to pair through your iPhone’s Bluetooth menu. Do this, and your controller will be ready to use.
How to change your controller settings for Call of Duty: Mobile
Now the game supports controllers, you can adjust your settings as much as you want. Click the cog icon at the top right of the main menu, and tap the ‘Controller’ option. From there, you’ll be able to see how everything’s been bound in ‘key description’, as well as adjusting sensitivity and other settings through the sub-menus.
