The PKM is a bulky LMG which shreds at mid range. In this guide we’ll give you the lowdown on our preferred Warzone setup.
Take the AK47, make it bigger, and you’ve got the PKM. It’s a bit of a beast, but despite this, it’s surprisingly versatile. You can kit it out to have a pretty nice ADS speed and low recoil, but you’ll have to settle for fairly low mobility.
Many opt for the Bruen in Warzone (which is fine, it’s very good), but don’t overlook the PKM. In our opinion, this thing ‘feels’ nicer to use. There’s hardly any kick, it’s a bit of a laser beam, has plenty of ammo to play with, and you can destroy targets in seconds.
Plus – and it’s a big plus – you can make do with the iron sights which frees up another slot if you’re that way inclined.
Below we’ll break down how we kit out the PKM for Warzone.
Best PKM Loadout in Warzone
When it comes to the PKM, we want to increase its long range damage potential and give it some added accuracy without skimping on ADS speed.
Here’s our PKM loadout for Warzone:
- Barrel – 26.9” Extended Barrel
- Muzzle – Monolithic Suppressor
- Laser – Tac Laser
- Underbarrel – Snatch Grip
- Optic – Corp Combat Holo Sight
The extended barrel offers the greatest number of bonuses to damage range and accuracy, while the Monolithic Suppressor will dampen noise and increase damage range further.
We’ve popped the Tac Laser on the PKM as it’s also home to a number of bonuses, most important of all – ADS speed. We want to relieve this bulky boy of its weighty feeling as much as possible, and this laser is definitely works towards this.
Again, the Snatch Grip increases recoil control without sacrificing ADS speed. Finally, the Corp Combat Holo Sight is our favourite for mid range engagements, but you can swap this out for an optic of your choice as it largely comes down to personal preference.
One thing you can’t really escape from is the lack of mobility and long reload times. Thankfully, you won’t need to reload too often as its magazine size is enormous, while the lack of mobility can be compensated for with the Double Time perk. You can also equip an SMG, pistol or knife as a secondary which you can swap to if you want to move a bit faster.

Secondary, Perks, Equipment
Here’s what we like to run with it:
- Secondary weapon: SMG, Pistol or Knife if you’re running Overkill
- Perk 1 – Cold Blooded, Double Time or EOD
- Perk 2 – Ghost or Overkill
- Perk 3 – Amped
- Lethal – C4
- Tactical – Heartbeat Sensor or Stun Grenade
Take your pick out of Cold Blooded, Double Time or EOD. They all have their benefits and it’s largely down to personal preference.
We’d highly recommend sticking Overkill on this class if you’re worried about mobility. This way you can have the likes of an SMG or Pistol as your secondary for pushing buildings or getting stuck into snappy close quarters fights.
You can always go and pick up a Ghost loadout later down the line, then just pick up your PKM and secondary before getting back to business. Again, you’ll want to do this before the game stretches on too far, otherwise you won’t be cloaked against UAVs.
We’ve found C4 to be the most versatile lethal as it can wipe out vehicles in one explosion, breach buildings easily, and can crack enemy armour speedily too. A Heartbeat Sensor is great for detecting opponents in the early game, but Stun Grenades will be more useful in the lategame for pushing enemies. This is largely personal preference.
Amped is our favourite of the third perks as it gives you faster weapon swap speeds. This comes in incredibly handy if you need to quickly switch between guns as teams push you or run away in fear. With the bulky PKM in tow, you’ll definitely want this perk.
