For long-ranged engagements, there's a choice of two.
Sniper Rifles are waning in popularity in Warzone, but with that comes fewer people using Cold Blooded. This means you can treat yourself to a long-ranged loadout – and here’s our favourite.
The AX-50 and HDR are clearly the two best snipers in Warzone, given their ability to one-shot kill to the head. However, a lot of people don’t know the differences between the two, so we’ve got a breakdown.

HDR
The first of the two you’ll have access to, the HDR is a great choice and beats out the AX-50 in many categories. It has better base stats in many categories, including ADS time when kitted with long barrels, bullet velocity, and bullet drop. This means range-wise, if you’re comfortable hitting those one-shot kills, you’re absolutely golden with the HDR. The faster bullet velocity means you have to lead your shots slightly less against moving targets too, so for many the HDR will be the more reliable weapon.
Here’s our favourite attachments for an HDR loadout:
- Muzzle – Tactical Suppressor
- Barrel – 26.9″ HDR Pro
- Laser – Tac Laser
- Optic – Thermal Sniper Scope
- Stock – FTAC Stalker-Scout
AX-50
The AX-50 has some upsides on the HDR, despite the slower aim-down-sights time and bullet velocity. The The AX-50 has a faster fire rate then the HDR, meaning you can hit those follow-ups either before the enemy gets their shot off escapes.
There’s also some little intangible bonuses for the AX-50. The default scope option zooms in slightly further than the HDR, and we prefer the AX-50’s crosshair design. You also don’t have to deal with the outside of the scope being blocked out when aiming, giving you a bit more peripheral vision.
Of course, some might prefer the slightly larger bullet drop and slower velocity, especially if you’ve gotten used to the AX-50, so don’t feel you have to go for the HDR just because of its advantages! At the end of the day the best sniper is the one that feels best, so here’s our favourite attachments for the AX-50:
