The veteran moves on to pastures new.
Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey has been released from Cloud9’s CS:GO roster, having only joined the North American side in November 2018.
With both Robin “flusha” Ronnquist and Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro also having departed the squad not long ago, kioShiMa’s release means Cloud9 has yet another spot to fill. It’s certainly been a turbulent few months for the team and one that will likely prove a big setback in their search for a second Major title.

During his time with Cloud9 kioShiMa helped the organisation achieve a 3rd-place finish at Blast Pro Series: Lisbon 2018, and a 2nd-place finish at the ELEAGUE CS:GO Invitational 2019. His departure clearly shows the organisation wasn’t confident in the current roster’s ability to secure the big titles though.
Currently Daniel “vice” Kim, formerly of Rogue, is on trial with the team and will be making his first appearance for Cloud9 at the BLAST Pro Series Miami on 12th April.
Arguably Cloud9’s greatest moment was winning the Boston Major back in 2018 but its roster underwent some significant changes once the dust settled. Three of its members left (Stewie2K, Tarik and Skadoodle), and ever since then the North American side has struggled to regain the same form.
It remains to be seen who the North American side will draft in to complete the roster, but we expect an announcement to be made very soon. Keep an eye on the homepage for further developments.
