Those affected by the "pity timer" bug now have 2,000 Arcade Dust to spend.
Late last month Blizzard announced that a bug in Hearthstone Patch 8.4 had caused certain players to miss out on the “pity timer” effect that’s supposed to be applied to the pack opening process.
While the contents of all card packs in Hearthstone are randomly generated, this artificial timer ensures that if you open enough packs over time, you will eventually be rewarded with a Legendary card.
To compensate for the issue, Blizzard is contacting those affected and crediting their Hearthstone accounts with a total of 2,000 Arcane Dust – that’s enough to craft a Legendary card of your choice, along with an Epic card to fill out any notable gaps in your collection.

Don’t be in too much of a rush to reach your inbox though, as the bug only affected a very small percentage of the game’s playerbase. If you have been “lucky” though, you’ll receive a mail at your registered email address, and also see a pop-up informing you of the credit when you next log in to the game.
If you’ve received this bonus dust and are feeling giddy with excitement over your unexpected gains, we would nevertheless recommend you hold off on spending it until the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion goes live in the next couple of weeks.
The meta will no doubt be shaken upside down when the new set of cards lands, and you’ll have some very specific new crafting needs if you want to remain competitive on your ladder of choice.
Knights of the Frozen is currently down for a mid-August launch, and will add 135 new cards to the game.
