For those who own Shadowkeep, there’s a new Leviathan’s Breath Exotic Bow quest line available. As always, there’s a few tricky steps involved to getting your hands on this powerful string-twanger, though. Below we’ll take you through all the steps so you can get your hands on it with minimal fuss.
How to complete the Leviathan’s Breath Quest
Talk to Banshee
If you own the Shadowkeep, you’ll be prompted to talk to Banshee at the Tower. Go ahead and have a word with him, and he’ll task you with finding his hidden workshop.
How to find Banshee’s hidden workshop
Proceed to the Hangar in the Tower. Once you’ve reached the entrance, turn right and go up the stairwell. At the top, turn right and follow the path around until you spot an overhang near some Future War Cult banners. Hop over to it, run along, and jump on the railings above these banners. Again, follow the path along.
Once you’ve reached the next room, look to your left and you’ll spot an open door. Drop into the vent, turn around and walk into the storage area. Look for a vent above you, and use the shelves to hop up into it.
Follow the path until you reach a very minor platforming section. Climb up into the small room littered with weaponry, run up to the weapon case and interact with it.
Next, respawn on the Tower and talk to Banshee.
Intro to Safecracking 101
To advance through this part of the quest, you’ll need to complete Gambit matches or Vanguard strikes. Gambit Prime matches and Nightfall Strikes grant more progress.
In our experience, Gambit Prime can take an age, so we’d recommend going for Nightfall Strikes instead.
Advanced Safecracking 101
For this step, you need to use a Bow to land precision final blows against Vex or Cabal enemies.
Equip a Bow and dive into the Vex Offensive activity on the Moon, or head into the Castellum in the Leviathan Raid for Cabal.
Economics of War
Next, you’ll need to complete a reworked version of The Arms Dealer strike in the EDZ. This is a bit tougher than usual, so take it easy and make use of your grenades, power weapons and supers to clear waves efficiently.
Applied Cryptosecurity and Getting Leviathan’s Breath
This step’s pretty simple. Talk to Banshee and he’ll give you a special key to pick up the Leviathan’s Breath.

Head on back to Banshee’s hidden workshop in the same fashion as before. Open up the lock and pick up Leviathan’s Breath – done!
