Destiny 2: Season of Dawn: Roadmap Overview

0

Here's a look at everything Bungie has planned for the season.

Our Destiny 2: Season of Dawn roadmap page details the content schedule for the Season of Dawn which runs from December to March.

Destiny’s Season of Dawn promises a slow drip-feed of content right up until March of next year. The Sundial will get new bosses and stages, there will be a couple of Exotic Quests, and we’ll be tasked with saving the legendary Titan Saint XIV. There’s also the usual seasonal event offerings like Iron Banner and Crimson Days to get stuck into.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the roadmap in lovely list form.

  • Nessus and EDZ Obelisks – 17th December
  • The Sundial: Ozletc, the Sky Piercer – 17th December
  • Save a Legend (Saint XIV) – 17th December
  • The Dawning: 17th December – 14th January
  • Iron Banner: 24th December
  • The Sundial: Tazaroc, the Sun Eater – 24th December
  • Legend Sundial – 7th January
  • Devil’s Run Exotic Quest – 7th January
  • Bastion Exotic Quest – 28th January
  • Empyrean Foundation – 4th February
  • The Sundial: Inotam, Oblivion’s Triune – 4th February
  • Crimson Days: 11th – 18th February

Currently the only slice of new content we don’t know anything about is the “Nessus and EDZ Obelisks”. Judging by the picture and the name, we suspect they’ll be static locations akin to Public Events. Perhaps we’ll be tasked on certain days or weeks to travel to these locations and fend off an increasingly difficult waves of enemies. Who knows if we’ll get any exclusive rewards for participating, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Just looking down the list, there’s not a staggering amount of content, but that’s okay. It’s important to temper our expectations when it comes to seasonal content. A new raid isn’t going to come around every three months, and it’s simply not doable – or healthy – for Bungie to deliver an entire expansion’s worth of content every three months.

This doesn’t necessarily mean all seasons are going to be conservative in the amount of new content they deliver, either. Bungie still has the potential to drop big expansions and hit us with some surprises in future seasons!
