Drodo Studio teasing new Auto Chess mobile pieces
Here's a look at some of the upcoming characters.
Drodo Studio, the minds behind Dota 2’s immensely popular Auto Chess custom mode, is releasing a steady trickle of chess piece images over on its Twitter page.
The studio recently announced it was working on an Auto Chess mobile title with Chinese publisher Dragonnest, and this recent waves of images suggests it’s on the way soon.
Since Dota 2’s Auto Chess mode isn’t officially affiliated with Valve, Drodo Studio has had to drop any ties to the game, meaning that every chess piece model has been reworked. Despite taking on a different appearance, many of the pieces will still retain similar mechanics to their Dota counterparts.
Here’s a look at some of the new chess pieces. There are plenty more on Drodo Studio’s twitter feed too, so head there for even more teasers.

Drodo Studio first announced Auto Chess mobile in mid March and it’s only alluded to the release date through a cryptic “coming soon” message. Fans of the mode who want to get in on the action as soon as it releases can reserve the game on zizouqui.com, although it’s unknown if and when the game will be available in the West.
