General Strategy

This deck plays a lot like Fearsome Midrange, but it adds a bit of extra spice to your late-game plans. Here’s a run-through of how you should approach each game.

Early Game: The likes of Elise and Arachnoid Horror are your bread and butter early in the game. You want to get stats on the board and force your foe to deal with it, hopefully at the cost of a lot of their resources.

The Fearsome keyword is vital for your early success – your opponent will be put under pressure by being unable to block with weak minions. Elise could even grab an early upgrade if enough of her summoned Spiderlings survive. If this ends up happening, you’ve got a lot of damage ready to go. Spiderlings with Challenger can get enemies out of the way whilst bigger units attack, or your Frenzied Skitterer can reduce your opponents’ attack power and stop them from being able to block at all.

Keep calculating for lethal damage too – sometimes you’ll be able to put a cheeky Mark of the Isles on one of your units and it’ll find the win.

Mid Game: If not though, you’ll be alright. Wraithcaller and Mistwraith can all boost each other, so your enemy had better get some high-attack units on deck before the Mistwraith army gets out of hand. You’re a token-based deck too, so Vanguard Redeemer acts as a reliable source of card draw. Along with Glimpse Beyond, you’ve got a lot of opportunities to get cards in hand.

Keep an eye out for a chance to play Radiant Guardian – getting a 5 mana 5/5 with Tough and Lifesteal is an excellent play. Just remember – a friendly unit has to have died previously on the same turn for the keywords to come up. Otherwise, you’ll end up with a vanilla 5 mana 5/5.

It’s best to play Hecarim on your offensive turn too – that way you can immediately begin hurling Ephemeral Spectral Riders at your enemy’s Nexus. Don’t fret when he dies too – The Rekindler will give him right back. Relentless Pursuit gives you an extra attack token too, so be sure to take this into account and save a bit of spell mana for a sneaky lethal when your opponent has used all their resources for a turn.

Late Game: You’ve been bashing your enemy’s Nexus for a while now, but if you need that last extra bit of oomph, The Harrowing is your final gambit. It resurrects the six strongest units that have died this game (with Ephemeral). Play this spell on your attacking turn and you’ll get stuff like Hecarim back and ready to attack. If this isn’t enough, you might be slightly screwed, but keep drawing and playing units – you never know when your foe will run out of resources.

These are the cards you’ll want to hold on to at the start of a match:

  • 1. Elise: her Fearsome keyword and ability to summon a Spiderling with every attack gives you a great deal of early tempo, and if you can upgrade her you’ll be well on your way to an early victory.
  • 2. Arachnoid Horror: A cheap 2 mana unit who’ll get you a decent bit of damage early on, especially if your opponent can’t block it. Fearsome means it’ll force poor-value trades from your enemy.
  • 3. Black Spear: It’s good to have a bit of removal, and 2 mana to deal 3 damage is extremely strong early on.
  • 4. Glimpse Beyond: Synergises excellently with Black Spear, and gives you the chance to kill off one of your smaller units in favour of some card draw.

Fearsome Rally tips, combos and synergies

Below we’ve put together a handful of tips to help you pilot this deck effectively. As the meta shakes out we’ll update this section, so stay tuned for all the latest!

Frenzied Skitterer reduces your opponent’s units by 1 attack power, which can put them out of range of being able to block your Fearsome units. Remember though, it only buffs your Spider units by 1 attack, so don’t go thinking Hecarim will benefit.

Brightsteel Protector can be played defensively – if you expect an attack from an opponent, you can preemptively give one of your units Barrier. Sometimes, your enemy will decide against attacking because of it.

Relentless Pursuit gives you the opportunity for some sneaky victories. Wait for your opponent to use all their mana, and you can attack twice in a single turn without fear of a reaction.

The Harrowing resurrects the 6 strongest units who died this game, but it’ll give them Ephemeral. Only use this spell when you know you can attack that same turn. You don’t necessarily have to wait for an empty board either, sometimes it’s a good idea to just fill your board space and charge.

– If you’ve managed to upgrade Hecarim throughout the course of your game, he’ll upgrade all the units summoned by The Harrowing.

– Be careful of playing The Rekindler. It’ll only summon a copy of Hecarim if Hecarim has died previously.
