There's a new way to get around town…
The patch notes for version 8.10 of Fortnite have just been published on the game’s official website, and two big changes are headlining the latest announcement.
First up, there’s a new mode of transportation coming to the island.
Known as The Baller, this hamster ball-esque capsule comes complete with a built-in Grappler as well as boost functionality to help you get around town.
While in The Baller you’ll be immune to damage, but the vehicle itself can be destroyed by enemy fire. It has 300 Health, and you’ll be able to find it in Expedition Outposts and near Pirate Camps.
Next up: Vending Machines. These devices now cost zero materials to use, but will self-destruct after you’ve taken your first item from it. Additionally, Common and Uncommon Vending Machines have been removed, and the Mounted Turret from the Legendary variation has also been removed.
There are plenty of other tweaks to be found in the patch notes. Treasure Map drop rates have been reduced, the Common rarity of Infantry Rifle is gone, and the Heavy Assault Rifle has also been updated.
