Fortnite: Battle Royale – Item list (Traps, Healing, Shield Potions)

0

A complete guide to every item you can find in Fortnite: Battle Royale.

Our Fortnite: Battle Royale item list outlines all of the healing, shield, potion and trap items available in the game.

There are a fair few special items that you can collect as your prowl around the map in Fortnite: Battle Royale. From deadly traps to restorative potions, some of these items can provide you with a major advantage on the battlefield – and some even allow you to achieve almost perfect camouflage too…

In this article we’ve outlined every single item you can loot in the game, although if you’re interested in those all-important weapons you’ll find more information over at our weapons tier list and stats page – head over there when you’re done if you want to get your hands on the juiciest firepower available in the game.

You may also find our Season 4 guide useful if you’re after everything that’s new with Fortnite this season. It’s filled with all Battle Pass offerings, as well as what changes you’ll find across the map.

Before we start with the rest of the collectible items though, here’s a quick note on how the rarity system works in Fortnite: Battle Royale. This doesn’t apply to every item contained in this guide, but many items can be found at different strengths (Common being the weakest, Legendary the strongest):

  • Grey – Common
  • Green – Uncommon
  • Blue – Rare
  • Purple – Epic
  • Orange (or Yellow) – Legendary

Fortnite Battle Royale Traps

There are three different types of trap available in Fortnite: Battle Royale:

Cozy Campfire

This item has a different use in the Battle Royale mode (compared to the base game), and can be looted as a Rare quality item. It is looted from no particular location, and once placed on the floor it lasts for 25 seconds, healing two health points per second to any nearby players.

Damage Trap

The Damage Trap is based on the combined utility of the Spike Trap, Wall Zapper and Ceiling Zapper from the vanilla Fortnite game. When placing the trap in the desired location, it will automatically swap to its logical counterpart, depending on whether you’re placing it on the floor, the ceiling, or the wall.

Launch Pad

The Launch Pad is a very handy little device that can be used to either help you escape from other players, or glide away from the direction of the shrinking Storm Cloud. First you need to build a floor, then pop the Launch Pad on it. Step on it, launch into the air, then launch your glider to travel gracefully to wherever you want to be.

Fortnite: Battle Royale Consumables

To help keep you going across the length of an entire match, there are around half a dozen consumable items that you might want to take advantage of. Here’s the low-down on how each one works:

Apples

You’ll find these fruits scattered under the many trees that dot Fortnite’s map. You don’t add them to your inventory, but chow down on them instantly instead. While they only restore 5 HP, you’d be silly not to have a bite if you’re injured.

If the coast is clear and you’ve got the time, chomp through a few and that could make the difference between being on very low health, to at least above half. Now the “five a day” rule applies not only in real life eh?

Bandages

Bandages are the most primitive healing item in Fortnite: Battle Royale and they only heal for 15 points each time. This makes them considerably less valuable than items like Slurp Juice and Med Kits, although even 15 points can make the difference if the other player has less than you!

Note that there’s a further limitation to be considered when making use of Bandages. Although the other healing items we’ve mentioned above can be used to take a player all the way back to 100%, Bandages can only be used to heal back to 75 Health, and no higher.

You shouldn’t have too much trouble gathering a decent collection of Bandages together, as they’re found all over the place. Do keep in mind though that they take up just as much inventory space as a more powerful restorative item. For that reason, be ready to chuck them out and replace them with something better as the match wears on.

Bush

Ever looked at the scenery and wondered how useful it would be to blend in seamlessly with the environment? Say hello to the Bush, a humble item that allows the player to transform into a piece of shrubbery.

Crouch down before using it for maximum effect, and keep in mind that the effect will wear off if you take damage from any source whatsoever.

Chug Jug

The best thing about the Chug Jug is that it grants the player who uses it maximum health and maximum shielding as well. The worst thing? It takes 15 seconds to get this drink down your neck, which can leave you dangerously exposed. Find somewhere safe to hide before imbibing this powerful potion.

Med Kits

The Med Kit is a bit like the Chug Jug but without the 15 second consumption penalty – or the shield, sadly. Still, it more than justifies its position in your backpack, and bagging a few of these is always a sensible precaution.

Port-A-Fort

A fort packed into a grenade – that’s exactly what the Port-A-Fort offers. Chuck this at your feet and it’ll erect an enormous mushroom shaped fort in an instant. It’s exceptionally useful for getting you out of a tight spot, or to create a defensive position in the circle minus all the hassle.

Shield Potion

The Shield Potion will increase your personal Shield by 50 points, maxing out at 100 after you’ve drunk a pair of them. These Rare items can actually be found quite often, although not as often as the Small version which we’ve detailed below.

Note that it takes five seconds to gobble this one down, but there’s no cooldown between uses if you want to chug a pair.

Small Shield Potion

Like it’s bigger brother, the Small Shield Potion provides you with some extra shielding. Note though that the smaller version only restores 25 points of Shield, and it takes two seconds to drink. They come in stacks of three.

Slurp Juice

Slurp Juice is a heal-over-time consumable item that gives you one point of Health and one point of Shield every second for a total of 25 seconds. This powerful potion can fully restore you up to 100 Health if you’ve the capacity to get there.
