UPDATE: What’s new in Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2?

Fortnite’s latest update has dropped a tonne of new reworks and features. Here’s a quick roundup of all the new stuff:

Here’s the new Battle Pass trailer, which showcases a handful of the new skins you’ll be able to unlock, teases new missions, and some explosive items too.

And without further ado, here’s what’s new!

New Menu System

The menu’s is now a dynamic pad, featuring all of the agents hanging out around a new Challenge table, Daily Assignments, and even a little Deadpool themed room with a computer terminal containing some special challenges.

Coming Soon…

Click on the computer to the far right of the hideout and it’ll show you the Ghost and Shadow symbols with a big ‘VS’ symbol between them. This is likely a special mode which’ll pit both factions against each other.

Upgrade Vault

You can now customise your skins in the new Upgrade Vault! Maya is currently the only agent you can outfit with cosmetics, but more will unlock in the future.

Agents and Agent Challenges

There’s a total of 5 Agents, each of which have specific challenges associated with them. Complete these and you’ll be able to unlock either a Shadow or Ghost version of them.

Every 2 weeks a new Agent will unlock, so you’ll have plenty to crack on with every fortnight.

New Weapons and Items

A number of new weapons and items have been added, here’s an overview of a few we’ve stumbled across so far:

• Decoy Grenade – Spawns an AI controlled copy of the player who’ll run about for a few seconds.

Ghost and Shadow Skins

Each agent will have plenty of unlockable skins, but you’ll have to choose a side: Ghost or Shadow. Depending on which one you choose, you’ll unlock uniquely themed outfits. Ghost agents go for a white, suited-and-booted look, while Shadow wear sleek, black clothing.

Limited Time Operations

Throughout Season 2, Battle Pass owners will embark on special Limited Time Operations whose outcomes will “change the face of the island, forever”.

The Yacht, The Rig, and The Agency

These three locations (and possibly more) contain Ghost or Shadow Henchmen, eye scanners and loads of loot for the taking. They’re essentially agency strongholds filled with NPCs which you’ll need to take down, or shake down. Interact with them when they’re crawling on the floor and you’ll pick up a special item which will temporarily reveal the location of other enemy henchmen and any other points of interest in the vicinity.

You’ll find some chests and doors locked behind a special eye scanner. To enter these, you’ll need to down a henchman and carry them over to the scanner. When prompted, hold them up to the scanner and after a couple of seconds you’ll be nabbing all the loot.
