Season 8 of Fortnite is due to kick off in just a couple of hours from now, and thanks to the teaser video that was released by Epic Games we have a very good idea of the challenges you’ll need to beat in Week 1 of the Battle Pass.
Or, at least, we know what most of those challenges are going to be. There’s a line or two missing from the bottom of the task list featured in the video, the details of which we’ll add in once the patch goes live!
Still, to get you prepared for the launch of Season 8, we’ve put together a guide which outlines all the tasks we currently know about. Once the new content update has gone live in-game, we’ll double-check the detail and also add in help for beating each one.
Without further ado, then, here are all of the Season 8 Week 1 Challenges we know about in Forntite:

Pirate Camp Locations

Volcano Vents
This one’s not too difficult and simply requires you to use one Volcano Vent across five different matches. To get this done quickly, simply land to the east of Lazy Lagoon and use the numerous vents dotted around.
Season 8 Week 1: Free Challenges
- Visit all Pirate Camps – 0 / 7 = 5 Battle Stars
- Search Chests at Retail Row or Junk Junction – 0 / 7 = 5 Battle Stars
- Stage 1 of 3 – Deal damage with a Shotgun and an Explosive Weapon in a single match – 0 / 2 – 3 Battle Stars
It looks as though there’ll be a number of Pirate Camps located around the map, and there’ll be at least seven of them to find. Once we know their locations we’ll add a note in here.
The other two challenges seem pretty vanilla to us, very self-explanatory, and are very familiar from previous Fortnite seasons!
Season 8 Week 1: Battle Pass Challenges
- Visit a giant face in the desert, jungle, and the snow – 0 / 3 – 5 Battle Stars
- My Party Assist: Use a Volcano Vent in different matches – 0 / 5 – 5 Battle Stars
- Get an elimination with a Shotgun, Assault Rifle, and Explosive Weapon – 0 / 3 – 10 Battle Stars
- Deal Damage to a vehicle driven by an opponent – 0 / 200 – 10 Battle Stars
It seems as though there’ll be three “giant faces” to locate across different zones on the Fortnite map, and we’ll have the locations for them right here once Season 8 has actually gone live.
Volcano Vents sound as though they’ll give you a blast of elevation but we’ll have to see what exactly is involved later on today. We’ll let you know where to find them as soon as we have that information.
The remaining challenge is a pretty simple affair, requiring kills using specific weapon types.
As we mentioned at the start of this article, we believe there’s one other challenge to unlock in Week 1 of Season 8 – we’ll add that detail in as soon as we have it.
