Servers are now online!

UPDATE: Servers are online!

The servers are now back online, get in there folks. If you’re not seeing them online, reload your launcher or give it a few minutes.

It’s arriving soon…

There’s a new patch to download on all platforms right now. On PC, it’s 14.9GB, while those on console will have a 9-10GB patch to download. The servers are currently offline, but they’re likely to be back online with Season 11 goodness at around 11am BST.

While you wait, here’s the new cinematic trailer:

We’ll update this section as soon as we know more!

October 14th – 10:00am

If you’ve logged into Fortnite in the last 14 hours or so, you’ll have noticed the entire game has been invariably sucked into a black hole. Try and play the game right now and it’ll amount to nothing – you’ll simply be greeted by an image of the black hole itself, ominously swirling away in the background.

To those worried the game has ended – it hasn’t. It’s a big marketing ploy for Season 11 which should be dropping sometime soon. But when?

Well, Season 10 released on Thursday 10th August which suggests that Fortnite’s servers may be back online on Thursday 17th October. In regards to timing, they’ll likely be online sometime around 11am or 12pm BST.

At the time of writing, it’s only Monday 14th, which means Epic would have to keep its game offline for at least three days. Of course, it could afford to do so, but whether it’ll leave its enormous playerbase staring at a largely blank screen is another matter.

Fortnite dataminer Lucas7yoshi has uncovered code over on the official website which seems indicate that the “end time” will be Thursday at 4am EST (around 9am UK time). This matches up with our prediction that the servers could come back online on Thursday…for now we’ll just have to wait and see.

If any other server news comes our way, we’ll update this page – stay tuned!

UPDATE – 09:38AM 30th MAY 2018

The Fortnite Servers have been taken offline this morning by Epic as it prepares to deploy V4.3 of the game. The news was announced on the company’s official Twitter feed a little earlier on this morning.

As with previous extended maintenance periods, you should expect the game to be down for several hours, and will most likely come back to life around noon in the UK. As soon as we have any official word from Epic on when Fortnite is coming back online, we’ll update this article.

In the meantime, you might want to brush up on our Week 5 Challenges guide which contains an overview of all the new Season 4 tasks. Our Shopping Cart guide also has all the latest information on the new vehicle coming with the patch too!

UPDATE – 09:00AM:

Epic Games has just released the V.4.3 patch notes for Fortnite, which confirms that today’s update will include a brand new vehicle, a brand new Mushroom consumable item, bug fixes and many more quality of life changes. Check that link for the full lowdown while we wait for the servers to come back online.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Fortnite servers will be going offline at 4:00am Eastern time (8:00am GMT) as Epic prepares for the deployment of V.4.3 of the game. From 8:30am you will no longer be able to log into the game servers, and will only be able to jump back in once maintenance has been completed.

Additionally, matchmaking will be disabled fifteen minutes before the commencement of downtime. If you plan on having a game, get in there now and make it a zippy one!

How long will the Fortnite servers be down for though, and when will they come back up? Well, typically we expect the team to take between two and three hours to get the game ready for re-deployment, so you should expect to be back in and blowing stuff up by around 06:00 to 07:00 ET.

Those times are variable though, and some patches take longer to apply than others. Expect this article to be updated as we learn more direct from Epic Games.

When the game does go back online, you can look forward to testing out a brand new Shopping Cart vehicle and take a bite out of some new Mushroom consumables!

We’ll update this article throughout the morning, and will also add in the patch notes for V 4.3 as soon as they’re released by Epic.
