Hearthstone deck guide: Brodos Legendary Druid – Hearthstone

0

Our guide to the new Ramp Druid with a twist.

Earlier this month we brought you an updated version of the classic Ramp Druid deck, recently given a new lease of life thanks to the addition of a few new cards from the Goblins vs Gnomes expansion. The tinkering’s not over yet, however, and Brodos (creator of our popular new Priest Control deck) is back with a revised version of this Hearthstone staple.

Out go one each of the Sludge Belchers, Piloted Shredders, and we’re also losing three legendaries: The Black Night, Ragnaros and Cenarius. In their places come a Sen’Jin Shieldmasta, two Azure Drakes, Dr. Boom and Alexstrasza. The result is a much more aggressive deck that doesn’t give your opponent a moment to catch their breath.

Brodos Ramp Druid Mulligan guide

As always with a Ramp Druid, it’s really good to get an Innervate and Wild Growth in your opening hand, so you can start lining up your ramping options. If you’re playing against an aggressive opponent, you want these cards along with any of Wrath, Sen’jin Shieldmasta or Piloted Shredder. For more control-orientated opponents like the Warrior and Priest, you should look to hang onto a Shade of Naxxramas and an Azure Drake.

As for other very specific Mulligans, keep a Swipe if you’re playing against a Paladin, so you can obliterate those annoying Muster For Battle minions on turn four. This is also a very powerful card when playing against a Hunter – target that Undertaker and wipe out his one-health minions while you’re at it.

Brodos Ramp Druid strategy guide

The aim of this deck is to drink down your ramping cards as quickly as possible, while picking off your opponent’s annoying early threats with your removal cards. As you approach the mid-game, you should be able to start fielding four-Mana drops nice and easily, while preparing your really big guys for the late game.

As always, check for lethal at every stage of the game, and don’t forget your Force of Nature / Savage Roar combo – even if you have nothing else on the board, this can kill an opponent sitting at 14 health. Need help getting there? Say hello to Alexstrasza.

Brodos Ramp Druid combos

There are a couple of powerful combos to take advantage of in this deck.

First of all, your Wrath and Swipe spells become more powerful when you play Azure Drake onto the board. If you keep that latter card alive then do so, but not at the expense of your opponent’s board getting out of control.

Savage Roar can, of course, be doubled up with Force of Nature to absolutely obliterate your opponent and end the match fast. Don’t be too precious about Force of Nature though. You have two of them in your deck, so using one to clear down a growing threat is by no means a bad thing.
