Tickets are now on sale for the very last showdown for the Hearthstone Championship Tour as we know it. Once this final event is behind us, Hearthstone esports officially moves into its new Hearthstone Masters programme.
The HCT 2019 World Championship takes place in Taipei next month, and will see 16 of the world’s best Hearthstone players fight for the title of World Champion – not to mention a tasty chunk of the $1,000,000 in prize money that’s available.
The format for this final event will see four groups of four players apiece competing until only the last eight are left standing. Those remaining players will then go toe to toe in a single-elimination bracket.
The venue for this final tournament will be the Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium, with the action commencing on April 25th. Here’s a breakdown of what’s happening and when – doors open at 9:00am local time on each day.
- April 25 – Group Stage: Groups A + B – Group and Winner Matches
- April 26 – Group Stage: Groups C + D – Group and Winner Matches
- April 27 – Elimination and Decider Matches
- April 28 – Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Grand Finals
