Hearthstone’s latest Tavern Brawl bans Legendary and Epic cards
Cheapskates only.
Hearthstone’s latest Tavern Brawl – Brawl Block: Tinyfin Mode – came out last night, and it gives us the opportunity to show our creativity when building decks. Only cards from the Basic set, along with Common and Rare are allowed, so your standard deck archetypes either go out the window or need some serious tweaks. None of your fancy Legendaries allowed here, only the cheap stuff.
If you are struggling, we’ve played a fair few games in BrawlBlock: Tinyfin Mode and have found success with archetypes of Midrange Hunter. Here’s our deck list and guide, and if you’re a Standard format player you’ll just need to substitute the Epic and Legendary cards out for the likes of Ramkahen Wildtamer and Houndmaster, since without Master’s Call in your deck you’ll be able to run non-beast cards. Toss in an extra Tundra Rhino and a couple of Savannah Highmanes and you’re good to go.

It’s worth taking a look at our Budget Saviors of Uldum Decks page if you’re looking for more ideas – most of those decks are very low on expensive cards, and the decks with a single Epic can easily be changed to accommodate!
As usual with Tavern Brawls, the reward for winning your first game is one Classic Pack. It’s a fun Brawl though! The encouragement of low-cost deckbuilding leads to the use of cards you don’t usually see, something that’s healthy for a game like Hearthstone. Dig deep in your collection and see what you come up with!
