How to make money from Flick in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Net yourself a profit.
Flick is a lovely chameleon boy who’s absolutely obsessed with bugs. He’s also a great source of bells, and does some delightful art.
Flick will arrive on your island occasionally to buy bugs from you and make you art. Here’s how he works.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Flick
On random days, Flick can show up to your island. When he does, get your net at the ready, as all insects can be sold for 1.5 times their usual price. This becomes particularly absurd when you’ve been to a tarantula island, but it makes running about with your net all the more worth it.
Flick sticks around until 5am the following day, so get your nets out and flog your bugs when you can – it’s a great chance to pay off some loans!

Flick’s art commissions
Flick is also an extremely relatable arty boy.
Bring him 3 of any single kind of bug, and he’ll take them away and create a little model for you free of charge! It’ll come in the post the following day, so keep an eye out for that.
You only get one piece per day with Flick though, so choose carefully! You might want to prepare in the future for other bugs you want made into pretty models – save up three of a type and put them in storage so you don’t forget.
Bug-off competitions
On the third Saturday of the summer months, Flick will show up and host a bug-catching tournament. Catching rare and large bugs will net you a reward from Flick each time
You can also commission an art piece from him when he’s present on your island, so make sure you’ve stocked up on bugs as we suggested.
We’ve got all sorts of other Animal Crossing guides for you to get your teeth into, including how to catch rare fish like the Tuna and Blue Marlin, as well as tips on completing the task for Wisp when you catch it at night.
