The latest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has added a brand new Light Machine Gun – the Bruen Mk9. Here’s how to get it unlocked.
The Bruen MK9’s flexibility and mobility makes it a fantastic weapon in Warzone and Multiplayer. It’s not quite as beefy as the PKM or M91, but it deals more than enough damage and is far more versatile at mid to short ranges.
Trouble is, it’s an absolute nightmare to unlock – we’re not kidding, the process is downright awful. To help you out as best we can, we’ve put together a few helpful pointers below!
How to unlock the Bruen Mk9 LMG in Modern Warfare and Warzone
In order to unlock the Bruen Mk9 LMG, you must get 3 kills in 15 different games, using LMGs, and within the radius of a smoke grenade.
It’s a bit of a grind if we’re honest, but with the Shoot the Ship playlist limiting you to only Shipment and Shoot House, you should be able to manage. Here’s how we unlocked it fairly quickly:
- Step 1: Make a specific class for unlocking this gun. Our favourite LMG is the PKM thanks to its reliable accuracy and solid damage output. Get some attachments on there like the Merc Thermal Optic and No Stock to make things easier in intense moments.
- Step 2: Add Restock to your class setup. This’ll let you spam out smoke grenades every 25 seconds, allowing you to keep plopping them onto objectives and using your thermal scope to catch enemies out.
- Step 3: Next, head into a playlist with Shipment or Rust if possible. The smaller and more frantic the map, the better.
- Step 4: Chuck smokes down where enemies are spawning. Then simply stand in your smoke, or near your smoke, and spray down as many enemies as you can. It’s going to be tough, but scope in occasionally and you’ll be able to spot nearby targets a little easier if you’ve got thermal sights.
The Bruen Mk9 acts as something of a midpoint between the Assault Rifle category and the LMG. It’s a decent one, and acts as a better version of the Holger in a lot of ways, so is well worth giving a shot if you can be bothered to grind it out.
