Kalifornia knows how to party.
The first new melee weapon is here, and the Kali Sticks offer a unique edge over the Combat Knife. Here’s how to unlock them.
These sticks are a large part of the martial arts tradition of the Philippines, favoured for the agility and versatility they offer in combat. This is true in-game too – the Kali Sticks act very differently to the Combat Knife.
How to unlock the Kali Sticks in Warzone and Modern Warfare
In order to unlock the Kali Sticks, you’ll need to fulfil some specific tasks with the Combat Knife.
The unlock mission is as follows: Using the knife, get 3 kills while sliding in 15 different matches.
Sliding can be carried out by sprinting then tapping or holding the crouch button, depending on your control setup. You’ll need to be sneaky and get up-close and personal to make this work, so we’ve got a class setup below that can help you secure these kills.
- Primary Weapon – Riot Shield
- Secondary Weapon – Combat Knife
- Perk 1 – Double Time
- Perk 2 – Ghost
- Perk 3 – Tune Up
- Lethal – Throwing Knife
- Tactical – Stim
- Field Upgrade – Dead Silence
The Dead Silence Field Upgrade is super-important here. It makes you ridiculously fast, especially when you’re holding your Combat Knife and using Double Time. Tune Up lets you get Dead Silence more often, so sometimes you can rush down enemies and knife them while sliding before they get the chance to take you out.
The Throwing Knife doesn’t count as a knife kill for the challenge, but it does help you when an enemy spots you and starts shooting their gun. You can kill them at range, retrieve the Throwing Knife, and try again.
Of course, this is much harder to pull off in Warzone. It might be best to wait for a free weekend of Multiplayer and grind the mission out there if you don’t happen to have the full Modern Warfare game.
The Kali Sticks take two hits to kill an enemy, but their range is a massive improvement on the Combat Knife. You actually lunge forward a certain distance and can get those two hits off pretty quickly.
