The Town Hall in Animal Crossing opens up a whole host of new customisation options, both rewards wise, and island wise. In this guide we’ll explain how to unlock it.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the Town Hall is one of the first big upgrades you’ll earn for your island. Not only will you gain access to a host of new cosmetic items via the Nook Stop terminal, you’ll also get access to plenty of island customisation options.
To start with you’ll have Tom Nook’s Residential Services building, but eventually you’ll get the chance to unlock this bigger and better version. How do you go about it, though?
Well below, we’ll take you through all the steps to unlocking your very own Town Hall.
How to unlock the Town Hall in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
When you first arrive on the shores of your island, Tom Nook will set up a Resident Services tent which comes in handy for crafting tools, purchasing essentials, and slowly building out your community. Expand enough, and it’ll upgrade into the Town Hall – here’s how to trigger this interaction:
- Blathers has set up his museum.
- Nook’s Cranny has opened.
- Build a bridge.
- Three new residents have moved onto your island.
Complete all of these tasks and head back to the Residential Services tent. Tom Nook will automatically chat to you – if not the same day, the following day – and explain that he’ll need to open up a new establishment as the community is growing so rapidly.
Tom Nook will warn you that this means Residential Services tent will be out of action for one day as it needs to go under construction. Don’t worry about lost Nook Miles, Nook Miles tickets, and the like, you’ll be compensated for your missed day. We would recommend purchasing a Nook Miles Ticket before Residential Services does close if you want to jet off on a little trip the next day.
