Character and Power Level caps will be increased with the first DLC.
Further details of the Curse of Osiris content coming to Destiny 2 in December have been revealed at Paris Games Week. The information was provided at a press briefing a little earlier on this evening (thanks VG247).
Most significantly, player level caps will be increased from 20 to 25 and in addition you’ll also be able to raise your Power Level to 330 (up from the current 300). You’ll be able to increase those levels by participating in a host of new Quest, Mission and Adventure activities on new planet Mercury.
Although no details have been provided, we also understand that there’ll be a new Strike to conquer, and additional raid content as well. Note that this does not necessarily mean there will be an entirely new Raid coming to the game. Rather, we suspect this new challenge will be built upon the foundations of the existing Leviathan Raid. The Lighthouse will also return as a social space for all players to enjoy, rather than merely the PVP elite.
From a story perspective, Curse of Osiris will see you exploring Mercury in order to track down banished Guardian Osiris and do battle against the invading Vex. You’ll also get to meet Osiris’s Ghost Sagira, who’s voiced by Firefly actor Morena Baccarin, and the update also marks the return of Brother Vance from the first game.
Finally, we’ve learned that the PlayStation 4-exclusive map we covered earlier today is called Wormhaven. No further details have been revealed on that front, although Bungie has promised a series of livestreams to promote the new content throughout November.
We will of course bring you all the new details about the expansion as soon as they’ve been revealed by the developers.
