Soldier Seventy Switch.
Nintendo opened its latest Direct by announcing Overwatch’s impending release on Switch. Available next month, on Tuesday 15th October, you’ll be able to purchase the retail version of Overwatch Legendary Edition as well as digitally via the Nintendo eShop for £35.99 (US$39.99).
Both of these versions come with a free 3 month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online – an absolute necessity for a game that requires an online connection – as well as the Noire Widowmaker skin if you pre-purchase. 15 bonus skins also come with the Legendary Edition, regardless of whether you pre-order or not. As a final treat, Nintendo Switch players who log into Overwatch in 2019 will receive a Golden Loot Box, containing a guaranteed Legendary item.
Taking full advantage of the Switch’s capabilities, this edition of Overwatch allows for the use of motion controls when using abilities like Junkrat’s RIP Tyre and Wrecking Ball’s Grappling Claw. You can get a glimpse at these new features in the trailer we’ve embedded below.
Originally released in 2016, Blizzard’s flagship first-person-shooter has an ever-expanding cast of unique and exciting characters. With 31 playable heroes and a whole host of ways to play, from hardcore competitive games to exhilarating, fast-paced free-for-all battles that’ll test your solo skill, Blizzard will hope that the gameplay Overwatch fans know and love will translate seamlessly to the Switch.
