Where Overwatch Contenders is for professional or semi-professional players, the Overwatch Open Division promises to provide a structured format of competition for amateur players who aspire to make it into the Contenders league in the future.

Who can participate in the Overwatch Open 2017
In order to enter the Overwatch Open Division, you must be ranked Master or higher (Skill Rating 3500+) in Competitive Play’s most recent Season.
How do I register a team for the Overwatch Open 2017?
Once you have a team of six players assembled, head over to Blizzard’s official Open Division page and click on “Enter the Overwatch Open Division” button at the bottom. This will take you to a website called FaceIt, which is a well-established platform fororganising online tournaments. Click on the Overwatch Open Division tab and then “Join with team”.
Note the following start and end dates for the registration process:
- Sign-up starts on Wednesday, 14 June 2017 at 18:00 BST
- Sign-up ends on Wednesday, 21 June 2017 at 23:59 BST
What format is being used for the Overwatch Open 2017?
The Overwatch Open Division will follow a Swiss system.
To keep things short and sweet, this is a non-elimination format featuring a set number of rounds of competition. Teams are paired on Skill Rating and will not play each other more than once.
The winner is the team with the highest number of aggregate points, earned across all rounds.
When do the first Overwatch Open 2017 matches begin?
