How to gain the upper hand in this week's very random Brawl.
Two good things about this week’s Tavern Brawl. First of all if you don’t have a massive collection of cards then you’ll be as competitiveness as anyone else, as everyone receives a deck composed of randomly selected cards. Secondly, you get to play with some fun new cards that might not normally see competitive play.
The somewhat bad news, however, is that we’ve seen this particular Brawl several times already now, and it also can’t help but have a very high RNG factor. That means you might get lucky on your first match and stomp the competition, or you might be gritting your teeth after many, many, failed attempts to bag your free pack of cards.
We’ll do our best to help you overcome this problem. An encounter at the crossroads… under a manastorm! Choose a class, get random cards. Each turn your cards’ costs are randomized.
Tips and strategy advice
- When evaluating the options in your hand on any given turn, try to remember that the random Mana cost will never go above the card’s default value. It will only ever be lower, which allows for some small degree of forward planning.
- This means that if you want a guaranteed play early on, consider hanging onto any two or three drops that turn up in the Mulligan phase.
- Because of the randomised nature of the decks, you should not feel inclined to play around probable weapons or clearance spells. Just because Paladins frequently pack a four Mana Truesilver Champion in their decks, there’s no special reason to believe they received one in their current deck.

Deck lists and best class
Our general recommendation here is that you pick the Hero you have the most experience with and the most fun playing. Having said that, you may find that the Priest’s healing ability and the ping ability available to characters like Rogue and Mage give those characters an advantage.
