Riot Games has emailed League of Legends players ability cards for an upcoming champion
Has a release date been Sett?
Those subscribed to Riot Game’s marketing emails may have received a mysterious addition to their inbox recently. League of Legends players claim to have received one ability card, out of a total of four, which preview an upcoming champions’ ability.
Biorekka posted a copy of their email over on the League of Legends subreddit, and with the help of three others (Goa44, Jetsusoro, and, -Quit), has given us a look at the champion’s complete toolkit.
- Fist, Meet Face [Q]
- Catch These Hands [W]
- Bust ‘Em Up [E]
- Let’s Give ‘Em A Show [R]
Riot previously announced in its Champion Roadmap two months ago that it’s planning on releasing a juggernaut after Aphelios. This champion sounds like a bruiser, who “will thrive in the center of a brawl” and very much likes to let their fists do the talking. If these new ability cards are anything to go by, it looks like we’ve been given an early look at this brawler’s moveset.
This news lines up nicely with Surrender at 20’s datamine which revealed a “calling card” for a new champion called “Sett”, alongside a message which said it could be opened in-game on January 14th 2020 at 11:00am PT. Biorekka draws attention to a calling card image at the bottom of their post, and it appears awfully similar to the datamined version. Could Sett arrive so soon?
It’s entirely plausible, but this is Riot Games throwing its usual release schedule out of the window. Senna’s only just established herself, Aphelios has barely launched, and we could be playing a new champion in the new year – madness. If any more information comes to light, we’ll be sure to cover it, so keep your eyes on our homepage for all the latest.
