South Korea wins its third consecutive Overwatch World Cup
Another flawless run sees South Korea emerge victorious once again.
South Korea has won the Overwatch World Cup for the third consecutive time. That represents a clean sweep of every World Cup event held since the game launched back in 2016.
The team took home the top prize with yet another clean sweep, this time against China who themselves overcame the hotly-tipped Canadian team in the semifinals with a triumphant 3-0 finish.
They weren’t strong enough to hold back the rampant South Koreans, however, who won the tournament outright with a 4-0 showing in the best of seven final encounter.
Overall, the tournament has seen South Korea achieve yet another unbeaten run through the playoffs, beating Australia 3-0 in the quarterfinals and the United Kingdom 2-0 in the semifinals, before putting China’s dreams to bed yesterday evening.
