StarLadder Berlin CS:GO Major Champions Stage matchups confirmed
Here's who made it through the Legends Stage.
The StarLadder Berlin Major Legends Stage has concluded, and the Champions Stage contenders have all been confirmed.
AVANGAR, Astralis, ENCE, Natus Vincere, NRG, Renegades, Team Liquid and Team Vitality all survived the Legends Stage and have also earned their spot in the Legends Stage of the next major in 2020 too.
The Legends Stage offered up some real surprises, with some of the biggest names underperforming. Defending Major champions and tournament favourites Team Liquid suffered a shock defeat to AVANGAR, which then sent them into the losers bracket.
However, the North American team recovered with a strong victory against North and a nail-biting overtime win against mousesports to qualify for the next stage.
The Champions Stage is set! These 8 teams have advanced through the Overtim — sorry, Legends Stage, and will compete at Mercedes-Benz Arena to become #BerlinMajor Champions:3-0⁰@ENCE@NRGgg3-1@astralisgg@avangarkz@TeamVitality3-2@natusvincere@Renegades@TeamLiquid

Astralis may not be invincible anymore, but they’re still top contenders for the trophy with a 3-1 record taking them into the next stage.
ENCE played brilliantly to roll through Vitality and MIBR with ease. Perhaps the most surprising performance of all was NRG’s giant-killing run through three teams, felling both Astralis and Team Liquid. If their form continues, they could certainly be contenders for the trophy.
On the other end of the spectrum, FaZe Clan’s star-studded lineup never showed up. They dropped must-win games against CR4ZY and Vitality, which means their hunt for a major title marches on. With such a quick exit from the competition, we imagine a roster shakeup will be announced soon.
In a similar vein, G2, MIBR and North were all eliminated with 1-3 scorelines. mousesports nearly clawed their way into the Champions Stage, but suffered an agonising overtime loss to Team Liquid. Their seventeen year old star “frozen” stole the show with an unbelievable performance, though – definitely one to watch for the future.
Finally, Ninjas in Pyjamas and DreamEaters were eliminated from the major with a 0-3 scoreline, which means they won’t be guaranteed a Challengers spot in the next major.
Here’s a look at all the upcoming Champions stage first round matches:
- ENCE vs Renegades
- Team Vitality vs AVANGAR
- Astralis vs Team Liquid
- Natus Vincere vs NRG Esports
The Champions Stage kicks off on 5th September and concludes with the Grand Finals on the 8th.
