The week in news, features and guides – 18th August 2017 – Hearthstone
There's quite a lot to catch up on this week…
After a pretty intense week of updating geeksplatform in the wake of the launch of Knights of the Frozen Throne, I’m pleased to say we’ve got most of the bases covered now.
The old deck guides have been updated with the latest deck lists – and for the most part completely overhauled to reflect those changes – while all the new territory’s been covered with at least a primer guide. All of these will be updated a huge amount in the coming days and weeks.
It seems like Druid’s the big winner this time around. Not only does the hero have a disgusting number of competitive options right now, but if it’s packing Innervate and Ultimate Infestation, then it’s probably feeling overpowered. More on that in the news section…

All the news that’s been covered on the site over the last seven days:
1. Should Innervate be moved to the Hall of Fame?

2. Frozen Throne Mission guide
The Second Wing of Icecrown Citadel has been released! You can now do battle against Blood Queen Lana’thel, Professor Putricide and Sindragosa.
3. New Twitch discovery tools launched

4. Encounter at the Crossbones: Tips for finishing this week’s Brawl
This week’s Tavern Brawl is Encounter at the Crossbones! It’s incredibly dependant on RNG on all fronts, but we’ve put together some tips to help you beat it nevertheless.
5. Blizzard is changing the name of Battle.net (again)
Battle.net is getting a new name, but it’s sort of the same as the old name, but with a different part of the name added…
6. Blizzard has heard your concerns about synergy picks
Arena players have not been impressed with the new synergy draft changes introduced by the Frozen Throne, but Blizzard has at least responded.

Decks
We’re getting some kind of shape of the new Frozen Throne meta, and can now give you a reasonable snapshot of the top ten decks. Check out our guide to the best Frozen Throne decks for a snapshot of everything covered since launch.
Note that the top half of this list is a lot sturdier than the bottom, which is subject to a lot of shuffling about.

- 3. Token Druid
- 4. Pirate Warrior
- 5. Tempo Mage
- 6. Highlander Priest
- 7. Miracle Rogue
