Three new maps arriving with next week’s Anniversary event – Overwatch
Blizzard gears up for a very special first birthday.
Three new maps will be released for Overwatch when the game’s Anniversary event goes live next Tuesday 23rd May. The new was confirmed by Blizzard on the game’s official Twitter account this afternoon (thanks, Eurogamer).
Although details of the new maps are thin on the ground, the developers have at least revealed a short video which you can see below.
The maps are explicitly described as Arena Maps, which suggests to us that they’ll be something a little more along the lines of the Arcade-only Ecopoint Antarctica than the larger landscapes of the core part of the game. There are definite flavours of Dorado, Temple of Anubis and Eichenwalde, which makes us think they may be reduced versions for the 3v3 mode.
Keep your eyes peeled for updates – we’ll be bringing you all the latest news about the Anniversary event as soon as it breaks.
