Virtus.pro management disbands CS:GO team
CS:Gone.
Virtus.pro management has taken the decision to remove their current lineup from competitive CS:GO.
It’s no secret that Virtus.pro has been struggling in the last year or so. The legendary lineup consisting of Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas, Filip “NEO” Kubski, Jaroslaw “pashaBiceps” Jarzabkowski, Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski and Pawel “byali” Bielinski was disbanded after a string of lackluster results.
Virtus.pro attempted to rebuild, introducing Michal “snatchie” Rudzki, Michal “MICHU” Muller and Piotr “morelz” Taterka into the mix, alongside both NEO and pashaBiceps. However, this new squad failed to qualify for the next ESL Pro League season – a misstep which reinforced the need for further change.
Virtus.pro’s general manager, Roman Dvoryankin issued a statement on the matter:
“After London Major we were quite optimistic about the potential of the current lineup. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The long term strategy for us is to build a competitive team around young players and we will follow it while making decisions. I’d like to ask our fans to be supportive in the next couple of weeks.”
At least one thing is clear, Virtus.pro isn’t leaving the scene forever. It’s taking time to rebuild with a younger squad, and it’s likely we’ll see them competing again sometime in the future.
As one of the longest standing organisations in the history of competitive CS:GO, many pro players have paid tribute to their influence on the scene.
We will remember VP forever for everything good they accomplished. Legends of CS. I am happy to have witnessed the plow and to have fought so many times against you guys. Some of the best CS games I ever played. Will never forget those. #respect https://t.co/n2MrA7DYlg

It’s uncertain where members of Virtus.pro’s current lineup will venture, but we imagine they’ll find their feet in another organisation.
