After the almost annual release of Call of Duty games, we’ve gone back to basics somewhat with the latest edition. Here’s what everyone’s playing at the moment.
With all the Call of Duty games available, it can get daunting working out which one to get. There’s a fair bit to take into account, but we’re here to help.
What is the newest Call of Duty game?
It depends on what you’re looking for when it comes to Call of Duty. The last few instalments in the series could potentially be what you’re looking for.
Call of Duty: Warzone
Call of Duty: Warzone is the free-to-play Battle Royale game mode that uses the same mechanics as Modern Warfare. You can download it for free on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
If you want the quintessential Call of Duty experience, Modern Warfare is where to go. It has a single-player campaign, a robust multiplayer mode, and comes with Warzone attached. It goes for full retail price, but if you’re looking for the latest Call of Duty, Modern Warfare is the place to look. The game is constantly getting updated, with brand new content and old favourites.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
Black Ops 4 came out in 2018, and a lot of the multiplayer audience has stopped playing in favour of Modern Warfare. The only reason a new player would choose Black Ops 4 is for the Zombies mode, which is not in the Modern Warfare series.
Call of Duty: Mobile
If you don’t have a console, Call of Duty: Mobile is probably the way to go. It too has Zombies, as well as all kinds of Multiplayer maps from previous Call of Duty games. It can’t play alongside Modern Warfare of other COD games, as it’s a completely different entity. It’s downloadable for free from the Apple App Store and Android’s Google Play Store.
