$1,000,000 tournament announced for Auto Chess
Drodo sets out its esports stall with a new October tournament.
Drodo Studios, creators of the original Dota Auto Chess mod, has announced a $1,000,000 tournament scheduled to be held at some point in October 2019.
The news was announced on the game’s official Twitter account yesterday evening:
Drodo studio, Dragonest Network, and ImbaTV will bring you the Auto Chess Million Dollars Invitational. If you are a pro and eager to show your talent on the world-class stage, get ready! See you in Shanghai in October! More info: https://t.co/rXRWOXi4eT pic.twitter.com/CQ6APkS8nQ

The tournament is being produced in partnership between Drodo itself, Dragonest Network and ImbaTV. While not precisely dated, the October event will be held at an undisclosed venue in Shanghai.
Participants will be based on both invitation and qualification. Certain unnamed pros have already been invited to take part, while qualifiers are expected to commence in August 2019. As soon as we have more details on that front we’ll add a post to the homepage.
Auto Chess has very much been this year’s Battle Royale so far. Following the explosive launch of the Dota 2 mod, Valve has launched its own official version of the game called Dota Underlords.
Meanwhile, League of Legends developer Riot has wasted no time getting Teamfight Tactics – its own take on the autobattler genre – into the hands of players, with a hugely popular beta currently underway.
