PUBG teases new desert map Karakin, and it could replace Vikendi
PUBG has teased a new desert map named Karakin over on its official twitter feed, and it could replace Vikendi.
From the outset, it looks incredibly similar to PUBG’s current desert map, Miramar, but it’s likely more on the scale of the game’s smallest map Sanhok.

Here’s another cryptic tweet, which likely gives us a peek into what we can expect from Karakin.

The community’s been speculating as to how Karakin will fit into PUBG map pool, but PUBG community manager Hawkinz may have answered this question already. He revealed in a tweet that Vikendi will be rotating out of the pool when Season 6 begins, but it won’t be removed from the game permanently.
Vikendi will be rotating out when Season 6 begins, but not permanently. You can of course still play Vikendi in custom matches. Well have more information soon.

This suggests PUBG will adopt map rotations moving forwards, perhaps temporarily removing maps from the pool, replacing them with new maps to keep things fresh, and reworking those on the bench for a future release.
We definitely still have some questions, though. If Vikendi is being removed, and potentially replaced by Karakin, won’t there be too much desert with Miramar knocking around? Well, for now we’ll just have to wait and see. Keep an eye on the site for all the latest!
