Windigo beat AGO to lift trophy at the CS:GO WESG World Finals
A fairy tale ending for the Bulgarian side.
Windigo have prevailed over AGO in CS:GO’s WESG World Finals, pocketing $500,000 in prize money and confirming the Bulgarian side’s biggest victory yet.
The match lasted three maps in what proved to be a pretty close contest overall. The first two maps were incredibly competitive, with Windigo narrowly losing out 14-16 on Inferno, before bouncing back and picking up Mirage with a 16-13 scoreline.
Windigo carried this momentum into the final map, overwhelming AGO with a convincing 16-7 win on Dust2, and proving that they’ve earned their place on the world stage.

Looking at the bigger picture, both Windigo and AGO’s performances at WESG were hugely excisting for the CS:GO competitive scene. With the likes of fnatic, G2 and MIBR in the mix, many had ruled out anyone else challenging these three teams to take the title.
In an amazing turn of events in the semifinals, Windigo had upset G2 with a 2-0 victory, and AGO stunned fnatic with a 2-1 win (even delivering a 16-0 blow against the Swedes).
It remains to be seen whether or not we’ll see these teams challenging for titles at the Majors, but they’ve certainly proved they’ve got what it takes to compete alongside the very best.
