All the rewards you'll receiving for taking part in the fifth season of competitive play.
On this page you’ll find details of all the Overwatch Season 7 rewards that are being added with the latest competitive season.
Season 7 of Overwatch kicks off in just over a week from now on Tuesday 31st October, and as part of our usual series of articles on what to expect from the new season of Competitive Play, we’re highlighting the rewards you can expect to receive for taking part.
Some of the details in this guide are subject to change, but based on recent announcements from Blizzard and how things have worked in the past, we’re pretty confident this article represents an accurate snapshot of what to expect.
We’ll add in any extra detail as and when it’s confirmed by Blizzard, so check back for updates.
Overwatch Season 7 Spray and Player Icon
In every competitive season of Overwatch, players have been rewarded with a seasonal Spray and Player Icon to mark their participation. Given that no changes to the reward system have been announced ahead of the new season, we’re going to assume that this is the case for Season 7 as well.
A few important things to note here, however:
- You need to complete your ten Placement Matches in order to qualify for these rewards.
- The rewards will be added to your account at the end of the season in question – not after completing your placements.
- Only those players who hit the Top 500 in any given season have previously qualified for the special animated Spray. Expect the same limitation this time around.
Once the season is actually live, we’ll grab screenshots of these new rewards and pop them in this section so you can get a quick look at what’s in store for you when you next log in.
Overwatch Season 7 Competitive Points
As you win or draw matches during each season, you’ll accrue a currency known as Competitive Points. You’ll also receive a bonus chunk of points based on your final ranking position at the end of the season.
Our comprehensive Season 7 guide contains more details on this, but some tweaks have been made to season length recently, which will affect the number of points you can earn. It’s not yet clear whether the hard values in the table below (from Season 6) are being adjusted, or that a shorter season length means less time to rank up.
For now, we’ll simply list the current values, along with a note that they are subject to change once we’ve had a proper look at the live details:

Overwatch Season 7 Golden Guns
Guns! Guns! Guns! Bag enough of those Competitive Points (3,000 to be precise), and you’ll be able to unlock a special Golden Gun for your favourite hero. Choose carefully, as it’ll take most of us quite some time to unlock more than one of these…
