Overwatch Season 7 start date and times confirmed by Blizzard – PDT / GMT / CET
Here's when Overwatch's seventh competitive season will get under way.
Overwatch’s Josh Engen has confirmed the start date and time for Season 7 of Overwatch on the game’s official forums.
Season 7 will begin on Wednesday, 31st October 2017 at 5:00pm PDT. If you’re located in the UK that translates to 1:00am on Thursday 1st November 2017. Europeans can get stuck into Season 7 one hour later at 2:00am.
Season 6 concludes a few days earlier at 5:00pm PDT on Saturday October 28th. During this downtime the Competitive Play option will still be available – allowing you to continue enjoying the format – but your rank will not be adjusted during this time.
Assuming you completed your ten placement matches in Season 6 as a minium, you’ll receive the themed player icon and spray for the period of competitive play. You’ll also receive a chunk of Competitive Points based on your finishing rank. These can be used to unlock the game’s special Golden Guns.
Here are the ranks and associated Competitive Points:
- SR 1-1499 (Bronze): 65 CP
- SR 1500-1999 (Silver): 125 CP
- SR 2000-2499 (Gold): 250 CP
- SR 2500-2999 (Platinum): 500 CP
- SR 3000-3499 (Diamond): 750 CP
- SR 3500-3999 (Master): 1250 CP
- SR 4000-5000 (Grandmaster): 1750 CP
Although no indication has been given of the Season 7 season length, it’s expected to last two months once again. These shorter periods were introduced with Season 6, but are subject to change over time. If there are any changes, we’ll update this story with all of the details.
