Overwatch wins Esports Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2018
The Overwatch League bags a major award in its first year of competitive play.
Overwatch has picked up the Esports Game of the Year award as part of last night’s Game Awards 2018.
It managed to overcome some stiff competition in the form of CS:GO, Dota 2, League of Legends and Fortnite – a title that’s dominated gaming headlines throughout 2018.
Overwatch was also up for a handful of other awards, but lost out in these categories.
Cloud9’s League of Legends team took down Overwatch’s London Spitfire in the Best Esports Team category.
