Season 5 end date confirmed – Overwatch
The finishing date for Season 5 of Overwatch is nearly upon us.
We’re moving well beyond the halfway point of Season 5 in Overwatch, and if you’re starting to review your progress with one eye on working out your likely finishing rank, you may be asking yourself just how long of the season is left.
Well, starting with Season 5 we were actually given an in-game indicator for when things would wrap up. Unfortunately it only displays the number of days left, rather than provide a hard cut-off date, so we’ve worked out that Season 5 will in fact end on Thursday, 24th August 2017. Expect Season 6 to begin around a week or so after that.
Those of you who have at least completed your Season 5 placement matches will receive the Player Icon and Sprays featured in the image below. Those of you who manage to hit the giddy heights of Top 500 rank will also receive a special animated version of both.

There’s more though! Depending on where you finish up on August 24th, you’ll also receive a load of Competitive Points. Collect enough of these over several seasons and you’ll be able to unlock one of the game’s lovely-looking Golden Guns. Here’s a breakdown of the points system for Season 5, followed by a gallery of said guns!
