Fortnite Season 6 start date confirmed by Epic
Plus, enjoy a 400% boost to XP gains this weekend.
Season 6 of Fortnite will begin on Thursday 27th September 2018. The news was confirmed just moments ago in a tweet from the game’s official Twitter account.
To help you finish off any remaining tiers you have left to work through in your current Battle Pass, the game will also reward 400% Match XP from now until 8:00am ET on Monday 24th September.
In a follow-up tweet, the developers have stated that some players may see their XP bonus appear before others, but all players will have it activated in a short while.
Season 6 is now dropping from the Battle Bus on September 27. Celebrate its arrival and unlock those final Battle Pass rewards with an additional 400% Match XP all weekend, from now until September 24 at 8 AM ET (1200 GMT). Glide into the party!

It’s worth working through those remaining tiers, as any cosmetic items you have left to unlock will become unavailable once Season 6 actually begins. You have a week left, in other words, but you’ll get a decent XP boost to help you out.
Although full details for Season 6 have yet to be posted by Epic Games, it seems likely there’ll be another Battle Pass to work through, and these typically cost £8.99 / $9.50 to buy. You can also pick one up using 950 of the game’s V-Bucks currency.
