Fortnite: Season 6 guide – Pets, map changes and skins
Everything you need to know about Fortnite Season 6.
Our Fortnite Season 6 guide contains everything you need to know about Fortnite Season 6, with details on pets, map changes, skins the Battle Pass and more.
It seems that with every season, Fortnite ramps up with its map changes and content pushes. We’re expecting no less from Season 6 and it’s guaranteed at this point that there’s going to be a significant shake up, especially with this strange purple cube roaming about leaving mysterious runes in its wake.
It’s difficult to predict exactly what the purple cube will bring to the game world, but we imagine it’s going to crack open and explode, perhaps altering the landscape it’s stopped at, or introducing a brand new set of characters (and skins of course) to the game.
We thought we’d put together an article that rounds up everything that’s known about Season 6 so far, along with predictions on the release date, Battle Pass and more. Of course, we hope you find this page helpful, and rest assured that we’ll be updating it heavily once more information is revealed, and further when Season 6 kicks off.

Season 6 – New skins
Here’s a look at all the new Season 6, Battle Pass specific skins.

Season 6 – All the new changes
Below we’ve broken down all the new content coming to the game with Season 6. As soon as the dust has settled, we’ll tidy up the guide and separate everything into lovely sections. For now, here’s all the good stuff:
Pets
It looks like we’re able to have a pet hanging out in our backpack now! So far only a dog, chameleon and dragon have been revealed. Expect more to be unlocked through the Battle Pass or pop up in the Item Shop as the Season progresses.
Shadow Stones
Dotted around the map are “Corrupted Areas” and it’s in these spots where you’ll likely stumble upon Shadow Stones. Consume one and it grants you invisibility for a short period, however you won’t be able to shoot or move for that matter. Try and shuffle along and you’ll leave a ghostly trail behind you that’ll let players know exactly where you’re located. You’re invisible so long as you stand still, which makes it an even stronger version of the humble “hide in bush” strategy.
However, you do gain a new ability called “Phase” which can be activated by pressing the Primary Fire button. This propels you in the direction you’re facing and allows you to pass through objects. This effect dispels after 45 seconds, but can be exited even earlier by holding the the Alt Fire button (aim down sights).
For a complete overview of how to find and use them, check out our Shadow Stone guide!
Updated Map
Changes have occurred all over the map. Islands are floating, crops growing and everything looks that much more Halloween. Here’s a list of the new locations:
- Floating Islands
- Corrupted Areas
- Corn Fields
- Haunted Castle
Battle Pass
As per usual, the Season 6 Battle Pass costs 950 V-Bucks and contains over 100 new items to unlock over the course of the season.
Here’s the trailer:
Again, we’ll provide more detail once the servers are back online and we can take a look at all the new juicy loot.
Balance tweaks and more
