The eight Contenders regions have been split into two divisions, consisting of four regions each. The Pacific Showdown will be hosted in Shanghai, China and the Atlantic Showdown is heading to Krefeld, Germany.

From May 24-26th, top teams from Australia, China, Korea and the Pacific will face off in Shanghai.
Just as the action ends in China, a new set of matches will kick off in the Atlantic Showdown. From May 31st to June 2nd, top teams from Europe, North America and South America will do battle in Germany.
Both Showdowns feature a double-elimination format, with best of three matches all the way through to the finals, where it’ll change to a best of four. The winner of each Showdown will secure an extra spot for their region at October’s Gauntlet, the Contenders grand finale.
Full details on the Gauntlet are yet to be revealed, but Blizzard has announced it’ll be taking place between October 9-13th after the conclusion of the 2019 Overwatch League season. It’ll feature 10 teams in total based on results from the Showdown and they’ll all be fighting for a spot in the Overwatch League, so the stakes will be high.
