Our Mecha’thun guide contains deck lists for the Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock and Warrior heroes in Hearthstone.
We love a good meme card as much as the next Hearthstone player, and the upcoming neutral Legendary card Mecha’thun promises to deliver on that front more than adequately.
Expect some outlandish deck experiments when this goes live, some very satisfying streamer clips, but perhaps not so much of an appearance in the competitive Hearthstone scene.
If you’re unfamiliar with this mechanical monster, here’s a quick overview of how Mecha’thun actually functions:
- Mecha’thun is a 10 Mana 10 / 10 stat minion with a Deathrattle that destroys the opponent if certain conditions are met.
- Those conditions require that you have at the time of Mecha’thun‘s death zero cards left on the battlefield, in your hand, or in your deck pile.
- That Deathrattle effect can be silenced by your opponent, potentially leaving you feeling very sorry for yourself indeed…
We’re rounding up a collection of theorycrafted Mecha’thun deck lists for all classes, but it goes without saying that these will be in need of further tweaking once the meta is in full swing.
We will also caution that our usual advice about holding back on crafting expensive cards goes double in this instance. This one’s strictly for fun at this stage.
With that out of the way, let’s move onto the actual deck lists. We’ll be updating this and slotting new suggestions in as new strategies emerge. We’ve also got a couple of more in-depth deck guides if you fancy getting stuck in with a little more insight behind you.

Mecha’thun Druid Deck List

Mecha’thun Hunter Deck List
The idea with this deck is that you reduce the cost of Mecha’thun with Galvanizer, and then hit your target with Goblin Prank once you have an empty hand and board – aided by Hemet, Jungle Hunter. It was created by Shateiel.

Mecha’thun Mage Deck List
This is MisterFr0sty’s take on Mecha’thun Mage. It takes the Tempo Mage format and applies Stargazer Luna, Luna’s Pocket Galaxy, Mecha’thun and Voodoo Doll to make the win-condition.
Lunar’s Pocket Galazy helps you play lots of cards for cheap, although there’s a risk that Mecha’thun doesn’t get the cost reduction benefit. The idea though is that you play it, apply Voodoo Doll and then use your Hero Power to ping the Doll.

Mecha’thun Priest Deck List
In this version of Mecha’thun Priest – created by StrifeCro – you use Hemet to thin down your deck, then execute the combo in the following order: Reckless Experimenter, Coffin Crasher, Ticking Abomination (x2) with only Mecha’thun remaining in your hand.

Mecha’thun Rogue Deck List
TheCrabKing’s take on Mecha’thun Rogue builds on the Miracle Rogue concept for its final win-condition. You need Mecha’thun, Myra’s Unstable Element, Backstab, Voodoo Doll and two Shadowstep cards in your hand.
First you wipe out your deck using Myra’s Unstable Element, then you clear your hand of all but the most important spells and cards listed above.
Next, drop Mecha’thun on the board and then use Shadowstep on him. Do the same with Voodoo Doll.
In the final stage, you now play your cheaper Mecha’thun and target it with Voodoo Doll. Kill the Doll with Backstab and you win the game.

Mecha’thun Shaman Deck List
It’s a little bit harder to get rid of your deck with the Shaman, but player WillPwn reckons they’ve cracked it.
For the Shaman version of the deck, you use Murmuring Elemental so that Galvanizer reduces the cost of the Mecha’thun in your hand by two. If you can get two Murmuring Elementals off, you can actually reduce the cost to six Mana.
When you play Mecha’thun, you pummel it using cards like Crushing Hand and Zap!
As far as thinning your deck goes, it is as we say a little harder for the Shaman to achieve. WillPwn points to cards like Hemet, Jungle Hunter and Acolyte of Pain in combination with Volcano. You can also use the power of Electra Stormsurge to double up on Far Sight and Elementary Reaction.

Mecha’thun Warlock Deck List
Player YourPrivateNightmare has put together an Even Warlock that makes space for some Mecha’thun shenanigans. It may well prove to be one of the most consistent decks of this kind that we see.
The Warlock’s lower cost Hero Power makes thinning the deck out a good deal easier, and all you really have to do is reduce the cost of Mecha’thun by playing a pair of Galvanizer minions.
Once you’ve done so, you’ll have the Mana spare to play Mecha’thun, then Bloodbloom, then Cataclysm. Woosh – your empty hand and board join your empty deck, your mech is destroyed and the game is yours.
