A quick overview of the latest map to hit Overwatch, with tips to be added in the next update.
Our Overwatch Paris guide contains everything we know so far about the new Assault map.
A brand new Overwatch map has arrived just in time for Valentine’s day and it’s now available for testing on the PTR.
It’s an Assault map based in Paris – the city of love – meaning one team will attempt to capture points while the other defends.
In our starter guide to the new map, we’ve outlined all the information that’s currently known about Paris. It’s fresh on the PTR, so we’re still getting acquainted with the ins and outs of its layout.
Once we’ve had some time to play around with the new map, we’ll put together a collection of tips and tricks to help you get ahead.
First up, here’s the official announcement which was unveiled on Overwatch’s official twitter channel:

Paris is reminiscent of Busan, with many narrow corridors, winding walkways and multiple flanking routes. This makes it quite a difficult map to adapt to from the off, and we got caught out multiple times thinking we were in a safe position.
This video by ohnickel shows all areas of the map and features a match midway through which gives you a better sense of how it plays.
From our brief time with the map we’ve found the first point to be difficult to defend, and fairly easy to attack. It’s a small space situated right by the Seine river, making it a great spot for knocking players into the sink. There’s no solid defense position, and no vertical space to control, which means one wipe and you’ve lost the point.
Much like Hanamura and Horizon Lunar Colony, this map centers around the final point. It’s a huge courtyard area with tonnes of flanking routes. Expect lengthy battles here as both teams wrest for control.
Blizzard hasn’t specified when Paris is launching on live servers, but it’s almost certainly coming to all platforms in time for Valentine’s day and the beginning of the Overwatch League on 14th February.
