Cloud 9 AWPer Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham has stepped away from the competitive CS:GO scene.
In Cloud 9’s farewell video – posted a little further below – Latham explains his decision:
”For me personally, now’s a good time to take a break. I’ve been playing with the team for a long time, doing the same thing I’ve been doing for a few years now. It’s just a little bit of everything coming down on my head at once. It’s good to take a step back and look at where you are.”

This isn’t the first time Latham has left Cloud 9’s roster. In March he stepped down from the team, but returned two weeks later after Jake “Stewie2K” Yip left Cloud 9 for SK Gaming.
Latham’s been an instrumental part of Cloud 9’s biggest achievements in CS:GO. In the time since he joined the team all the way back in April 2015, Cloud9 has finished in first place at the ESL Pro League Season 4 finals and were crowned ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018 champions – the first team from North America to win a major title in CS:GO.
With Latham’s departure from the scene, Cloud 9 has lost another of their most capable players. Only Timothy “autimatic” Ta and William “RUSH” Wierzba remain from the outfit’s Major-winning lineup.
It’s uncertain who will replace Latham’s spot in the team, but Cloud 9 may scout out some young talent, giving the team a much needed fresh perspective and – in turn – room to grow.
