Fnatic bench Xizt and twist in CS:GO roster shakeup
It's beginning a "new phase".
After a few disappointing months, Fnatic has decided to bench Richard “Xizt” Landstrom and Simon “twist” Eliasson in an effort to “begin the path back to the top”.
In its official statement, Fnatic acknowledges its poor performances over the last few months and describes its failure to reach the Berlin Major as its “lowest point in a long journey of Counter Strike.”
Up until now Fnatic has never failed to qualify for a CS:GO Major tournament, so it’s understandable that the organisation is taking serious measures to reform its roster.
In falling short of the Berlin Major, we lost the moniker as the only team to have attended every single CS:GO Major. We set goals and we failed.Today, we announce initial changes to our CS:GO setup as @twist and @Xizt move to our bench.STATEMENThttps://t.co/HT8VvYaVGm pic.twitter.com/coi114TxBm

Xizt also acknowledges that “it’s time for a change”, and is frank in his self-assessment, saying that he’s struggled to maintain a high level of play for a while now.
”I know I haven’t been playing well lately and certainly far from the level where I want to be myself. I think being on the bench will be beneficial for Fnatic and also have a positive effect on me in the long-run.”
Twist’s statement is brief, but optimistic. He thanks Fnatic for the opportunity and hopes to make “Swedish CS fans proud in the future”.
It’s currently unknown who’s replacing both Xizt and twist, but we’re sure to find out soon enough. Perhaps we’ll see the legendary flusha rejoin its ranks? Keep an eye on the site for updates!
