Destiny 2: Bungie to remove Nazi-inspired “Kekistan” gauntlet from the game
"This does NOT represent our values, and we are working quickly to correct this."
An item of armour from Destiny 2 which share similarities with a hate symbol is to be removed from the game, according to a series of posts on the official Bungie Twitter account this evening.
The item in question: “Road Complex AA1” features a symbol along the upper arm section which bears a striking resemblance to the so-called “Kekistan” flag. The flag itself was created to symbolise a proposed 4Chan “nation state” and shares similarities with the flag of the Nazi Third Reich.
You can compare the two images for yourself below:

“It’s come to our attention that a gauntlet in Destiny 2 shares elements with a hate symbol. It is not intentional. We are removing it,” the first tweet reads.
“Our deepest apologies. This does NOT represent our values, and we are working quickly to correct this. We renounce hate in all forms.”
The similarity is striking enough that the item was presumably created by an in-house developer with knowledge of the meme, and it then passed undetected into the live game.
We’ve yet to see details of the proposed replacment for the gauntlet, but will update this story when we learn more.
